On Monday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced U.S. President Joe Biden would be visiting Baltimore on Friday, following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge there the week before. The bridge collapsed early last Tuesday, after a cargo ship lost power and control before crashing into a support column. Six people were presumed dead in the incident and another was critically injured.
