Conservative MP Tim Uppal said in question period on Tuesday that carjackings have more than doubled so far in 2024, and that Canadians are concerned about their private property as well as the safety of their families. Minister for Public Safety Dominic LeBlanc responded by saying that the federal government is working with local police and authorities to “crack down” on “violent criminal activity.”
