Poilievre says Trudeau like a ‘bank robber’ who thinks he’s ‘virtuous’ over carbon price hike

The debate on a 23 per cent hike to the carbon price on April 1st continued in question period on Monday with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland arguing that families will be getting back more than they pay. “That’s $1,800 Alberta families won’t get. That’s $1,120 Ontario families won’t get. Cut, cut cut — that’s all (Conservatives) know how to do,” Freeland said. “According to the Parliamentary budget officer, carbon tax will cost Alberta families $2,943. The prime minister takes away $2,943 and gives back $1,800. It’s almost like he’s a bank robber who thinks he’s virtuous because he tips the teller on the way out the door,” said Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre in response.
