Responding to a question about the potential banning of Tiktok in the U.S., Canadian ambassador Kirsten Hillman said in Washington, D.C., on Monday that there have been many questions about how the potential ban was being perceived in Canada. Minister of Innovation François-Philippe Champagne also said that the “whole ecosystem of social media” needs to be considered beyond specific platforms, but that Canada will look to its partners and allies worldwide for reference.
