Canada’s inflation fell to 2.9% in January, Freeland says

During a visit to Victoria, B.C., on Monday, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said that Canada’s inflation rate fell to 2.9 per cent in January — down from 3.4 per cent the month before and the peak of 8.1 per cent. Freeland added that the country added 41,000 jobs in February, which was double market expectations, and that wage growth has outpaced inflation for the past 12 months.
