Almost 900,000 Canadians had gig work as their main job in the final three months of 2022, according to a new report from Statistics Canada. Gig work is defined as short-term jobs or tasks delivered that often don’t come with guaranteed steady work. As Sean Previl reports, at least one expert says such a large number doing gig work could be a signal of a bigger issue for Canada.
