Quebec’s controversial housing bill, presented as a means of addressing some aspects of the housing crisis, is now law. According to the CAQ government, the legislation includes provisions to counter abusive evictions, as well as restore a balance in rights of tenants and landlords. But housing groups say the law does anything but make things better for tenants and are promising to continue fighting it. Global’s Phil Carpenter reports.
