Growing calls for a national pharmacare program

A national poll commissioned by Heart & Stroke and the Canadian Cancer Society finds one-quarter of Canadians surveyed don’t take their medication as prescribed because of cost. The Heart & Stroke’s Director of Policy and Advocacy, Manuel Arango, explains how skipping or cutting back on prescribed medication can place an additional burden on the healthcare system, and how a national pharmacare program would help.
