Speaking in the House of Commons on Monday, Liberal MP Kody Blois pressed Minister of Emergency Preparedness Harjit Sajjan on what the federal government was doing to help those in Cape Breton and across Nova Scotia following heavy snowfall over the weekend that ended with parts of Cape Breton declaring a local state of emergency. Sajjan responded by saying that search and rescue crews have been deployed, Parks Canada equipment has been made available and that the humanitarian workforce will be providing additional support.
