UPS, the American multinational package delivery and supply chain management company, announced that it will lay off around 12,000 employees due to a $12-billion decline in revenue and rising labour costs. The decision comes just five months after the company reached a new labour deal to avoid mass strike action. According to UPS, the move will save them about $1.3 billion.
