The expected federal expansion of medical assistance in dying to people whose sole conditoin is mental illness has been put on hold following a joint parliamentary committee report found fundamental issues have not been resolved. As Sean Previl explains, Ottawa still needs to table legislation to enact the pause and time is already running out to do so.
