Vehicle crashes through ice on Keating Channel, crews search for occupant

Toronto emergency teams launched a full water rescue response mission Saturday morning after a vehicle crashed through ice and sunk in the Keating Channel. Police said they received a call about a collision at 8:45 a.m. in the area of Lake Shore Drive and Cherry Street. Video of the rescue attempt showed a cable pulling the vehicle out of the water snap; the vehicle slipped back beneath the icy water.
