Pets will not be treated as property in separation or divorce proceedings: B.C. premier

Under changes to family law in B.C., Premier David Eby said Monday that pets will no longer be considered property but will be treated as special members of the family, just like children. He said these changes came from feedback they received from people who have been through the family court system.
