Speaking in Ottawa on Thursday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called former NDP leader Ed Broadbent a “giant” of Canadian politics, following news of the 87-year-old’s death. “His service to this country was always focused on strengthening communities and bringing people together and believing in what Canadians were capable of,” Trudeau said.
