Anti-apartheid photojournalist Peter Magubane dies at 91

Peter Magubane, a fearless photographer who documented racial segregation in South Africa’a apartheid era for 40 years, has died at the age of 91. Eric Sorensen looks back on the impact of Magubane’s work, and how he captured Nelson Mandela’s first years of freedom after the former South African president’s release from prison.
