“Crews will continue to reduce the fire load throughout the evening and possibly into tomorrow,” Regina Fire & Protective Services deputy chief Gordon Hewitt said on Friday. “We were fortunate the wind direction took the smoke away from the city and mitigated risks brought by the smoke,” Hewitt added.
