The family of an Apsley, Ont., man who died by suicide has launched a fundraising campaign for mental health, along with a new association.
It’s called “Roter’s Reach Mental Health Awareness” and it will raise funds and awareness for services and supports.
Eric Roter died in September after living with bipolar disorder. He used to have a business called “Roter’s Reach Property Maintenance”
According to his sister Haley Scriver, Roter couldn’t access resources and faced barriers at every turn when trying to seek help.
But, she says her family wants his traumatizing death to be a driving force for change, rather than a statistic.
