Marie-France Lalonde, the parliamentary secretary to the minister of national defence, announced Wednesday that the federal government was investing $1.68 billion to help modernize the Canadian Armed Forces. “The money will go towards all the joint technologies; from computers, sensors, telecommunications equipment to firmware and software which allows personnel to stay up to the minute with the latest information on their surroundings and their capabilities,” Lalonde said.
