The festive season kicked off in Peterborough on Dec. 15 with the lighting of a 35-foot tall tree at the Quaker Foods City Square in the downtown.
Hundreds gathered as Mayor Jeff Leal flipped the switch to turn on the lights to the tree which was from Ennismore.
There was also a performance by the Peterborough Singers choir.
The outdoor rink at the park offers skating when weather permits.
