How 2023 became the ‘year of the fear of the strike’

Experts say workers were more willing to strike this year as they sought to catch up to the skyrocketing cost of living. Strikes launched by Metro workers in Toronto, B.C. port workers and federal employees brought employers to the table with better deals, helped by a tight labour market that gave workers more bargaining power.
