U.S. says alleged plot to kill Sikh activist in N.Y. linked to Nijjar murder in B.C.

An agent of the Indian government directed one of its citizens to hire a hitman to assassinate a Sikh activist living in New York, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. That activist is believed to be Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who has both Canadian and American citizenship. Jackson Proskow reports on how investigators say the suspected murder-for-hire plot was thwarted, and the link to the June murder of Canadian Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia, as claims grow the Indian government is trying to silence and kill vocal dissidents.
