A rare sports car is set to be sold in California in August, and may set a record without even being in a race. A 1998 McLaren F1 is being sold by RM Sotheby’s during their Monterey auction of private collection sports cars. The road/race hybrid is expected to fetch between $12-15 million, setting a record for the most money spent on a McLaren sports car to date.
