Police now investigating over 9000 leads in escaped prisoners case

Mon, Jun 22: Inmates David Sweat and Richard Matt escaped from the prison in Dannemora on June 6. Since then, more than 800 law enforcement officers have gone door-to-door checking houses, wooded areas, campgrounds and summer homes as they track down over 9000 leads, according to a police spokesperson.
