On Wednesday, Minister of Canadian Heritage Pascale St-Onge announced Google will pay $100 million annually to Canadian news organizations as part of a new deal struck with Ottawa over Bill C-18: the Online News Act. She said that the agreement will establish a fairer commercial relationship between digital platforms and journalism in Canada.
