Pressure mounts after 420,000 Quebec public sector workers declare week-long strike in December

Hospital patients and parents are being forewarned that doctor appointments, surgeries and in-school learning are being suspended for a one-week period. Starting Dec. 8, a massive strike is planned that will close schools and interrupt health-care servicea. Hundreds of thousands of public sector workers part of the common front of unions are walking off the job. Global’s Tim Sargeant reports.
