Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced Monday the province would take over responsibility for the Don Valley Parkway and the Gardiner Expressway from the City of Toronto as part of a new financial deal with the cash-strapped municipality. In exchange, he said the city would allow the province to take responsibility for Ontario Place, clearing the way for the Ford government’s controversial redevelopment of the Crown lands.
