Longtime tenants of a heritage building on Charles St. took to the streets Sunday to protest what they are calling “renovictions” — where landlords ignore requests from tenants to fix issues in their apartments, and in response, are ignored and evicted to make way for suitors willing to pay a higher rental fee in just a fraction of the space. Also, a tentative agreement has been reached between Unifor and No Frills. Unifor represents more than 1,200 workers at 17 No Frills stores across Ontario. Plus, fans gather from across the country in Hamilton, Ont. for the CFL’s highly-anticipated 110th Grey Cup game.
