Icelandic Prime Minister Katrin Jakobsdottir said on Saturday that her country stands in support of the residents of the fishing town of Grindavik as concerns grow about an imminent volcanic eruption that could affect the area. “To see the big cracks everywhere and all the houses are ruined, it’s very sad, because I’m born and raised there,” said Gudmundur Thorlaugarson, a resident of Grindavik. “It’s a very unreal situation.”
