An official with the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) — an Israeli Defence Ministry agency which liaises with Palestinians on civilian affairs — claims that reports of “strikes” on Gaza’s al-Shifa hospital are “a lie.” The violence comes after Israel claimed Hamas has hidden command centers and tunnels beneath Shifa. The militant group, however, has denied these allegations.
