Speaking in the House of Commons in Ottawa on Wednesday, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said that the U.K. Foreign Office has warned its citizens that “the risk of terrorist attacks happening in Canada is very likely,” asking if Prime Minister Justin Trudeau agreed with the assessment and what was being done to protect Canadians. Trudeau responded by saying that these are “trying times” but that Canadians and security officials are working together to support one another amid a “rise in hatred,” including Islamophobia and antisemitism.
