NDP MP Lindsay Mathyssen said during question period on Monday that Canadians who were “trapped” in Gaza “put all of their hopes on Sunday’s evacuation, only to hear nothing from Canadian officials.” Parliamentary Secretary Pam Damoff responded by saying that the situation on the ground is “fluid and unpredictable” and that there are delays at the Rafah crossing for “all countries.” Damoff added that the federal government is in regular contact with both Egypt and Israel and that they continue to call for a “humanitarian pause.”
