Storm Ciaran hit the French-Atlantic coast on Tuesday evening, leaving a truck driver dead in France and injuring hundreds across western Europe, and leaving millions of people in the dark. Wind speeds of over 180 kph left households across France without power and triggered hundreds of flights and scheduled trains to either be delayed, rescheduled or cancelled altogether.
