The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) held a special session on Israel and Gaza on Friday, where a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire and provision of urgent humanitarian aid was discussed. U.S. Representative Linda Greenfield-Thomas proposed an amendment to the resolution arguing it lacked two key words. “It is outrageous that this resolution fails to name the perpetrators of the Oct. 7 terrorist attack. Hamas. Another keyword missing in this resolution is hostage. This resolution makes no mention of the innocent people – including many citizens of yours in this room,” Greenfield-Thomas said.
