Despite international calls for a humanitarian ceasefire, diplomatic efforts to arrange a ceasefire to let aid reach the besieged Gaza Strip have failed. “Nowhere is safe in Gaza,” Gazan resident Hadeel Abu Dahoud said. Meanwhile, European Commission (EU) President Ursula von der Leyen announced the launch of a humanitarian air bridge operation consisting of “several flights” to Egypt to bring supplies to humanitarian organizations on the ground in Gaza.
