Liberal MP Greg Fergus has been elected the first Black House Speaker in Canada on Tuesday following Anthony Rota’s resignation. In a quirky tradition for every new Speaker, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre playfully dragged Fergus to the podium to make his first remarks in the role.
