RADISSON, Sask. – Leona Noble wiped tears away as she looked down at the cross representing the location her daughter Katelyn disappeared from.
Katelyn Noble went missing on Aug. 17, 2007.
This is the third time Leona has been out to the Radisson area searching for her daughter.
“I’m hoping we can get a few new places checked out and hopefully we can do some locating of some clues,” said Leona Noble.
The last six years have taken a lot out of Leona. After working for the first five, the stress of her missing daughter got to her and she couldn’t concentrate on work.
While this weekend’s search is family-driven, police continue to follow up on information and will be out near Radisson supporting the search party.
“Obviously we’re hoping for any information to lead us to where she is now,” said Sgt. Robin Zentner, RCMP historical case unit.
“I think we’ve been fairly honest and open with the media and the family and we believe Katelyn is deceased and we’re looking for any information that will lead us to the whereabouts of where her body is right now.”
There are four new sites in mind for this search, three around Radisson Lake and one near the Mayfair area.
Around 20 people are expected to help search throughout the weekend.
