Global News is projecting Omar Alghabra has been re-elected as the Liberal MP for Mississauga Centre.
Mississauga Centre is located in Ontario, specifically in the Regional Municipality of Peel.
It includes the City of Mississauga, with some of the major streets being Eglinton Avenue West, Hurontario Street and Dundas Street West. It includes part of Highway 403 and the Credit River. It includes parts of the old ridings of Mississauga—Erindale, Mississauga East—Cooksville, Mississauga—Brampton South and Mississauga—Streetsville.
Alghabra has held the seat since 2015, winning 54.7 per cent of the vote. He was previously MP of the Mississauga—Erindale riding from 2006 until 2008.
Alghabra retained the seat in 2019 in a landslide win with almost 56 per cent of the vote. He also held the position of Canada’s transport minister in the Liberal government
