The riding is located on the South Shore in the Quebec region of Montérégie.

The riding includes part of Longueuil—Pierre-Boucher and Saint-Bruno—Saint Hubert, to the south of the Island of Montreal.

Longueuil—Saint-Hubert has a large francophone population with over 71 per cent of the population citing French as their mother tongue. Nearly 20 per cent of this riding’s population consists of immigrants, with large populations stemming from Haiti, Morocco and France.

The municipalities in the region include Greenfield Park and LeMayne.

The Bloc Québécois’s Denis Trudel was elected in the Longueuil—Saint-Hubert in the 2019 election, beating incumbent candidate Pierre Nantel.

Nantel was seeking re-election but in a different colour. Nantel started as an MP for the NDP in 2011, but he was dropped from the caucus following revelations that he had been having private discussions about crossing the floor. He ran as the candidate under the Green Party banner in 2019.
