Man arrested for assaulting women, Transit staff at downtown bus shelter

A Winnipeg man is behind bars after he was observed assaulting four people in a downtown bus shelter, say police.

Glen Roger Asselin, 56, faces charges of uttering threats, possessing a weapon, and four counts of assault after the Wednesday night incident, which took place at the intersection of Graham Avenue and Fort Street at around 7:20 p.m.

Police said the accused punched one woman and shoved another before he was stopped by two Winnipeg Transit supervisors – both of whom were also assaulted and threatened.

None of the victims required medical attention.
