As students are most likely enjoying a day off school thanks to Tuesday’s winter storm, one Guelph teacher is expressing sadness through song.
A video of teacher Paul Farmer performing Snow Day Sadness — a hilarious and creative remix of Simon and Garfunkel’s Sound of Silence.
Farmer is seen in the video strumming a guitar alone in an empty room.
“And all you kids woke up and cried when you took one look outside. Now you’ll have to spend the day sleeping in, building snow forts or Nintendo-en,” Farmer sings. “When all you really wanted was a chance to come to school. It’s unfair and cruel.”
“It echoes through these halls on snow day.”
Tuesday’s storm closed many schools across southern Ontario and Environment Canada said the system will not pass until Wednesday.
It’s not clear if students will be returning to school on Wednesday or if Farmer’s Snow Day Sadness will continue.
