Construction work has been underway at the intersection since July to upgrade the traffic signal infrastructure.

The city said once the road is paved, they will be adding new markings to make it easier for cyclists to get through the intersection.

“Cyclists will have the option to cross the intersection in the designated green bike lane, wait on the corner for the light to turn green, and then cycle across the second leg in order to complete a left-hand turn,” the post stated.

The city said the design eliminates the need for people on bikes to turn left from the traditional left-hand turn lane.

The concrete work is expected to last for about one week and overnight paving will follow for about two days, weather permitting.

Drivers can expect lane reductions, but the city said traffic will be maintained in all directions.
