She’s only 17, but swimmer Taylor Ruck from Kelowna, captured a record-tying eighth medal today at the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

She’s landed one gold, five silver and two bronze and joins Canadian Ralph Hutton and Australians Susie O’Neill and Emily Seebohm as the only athletes to win eight medals at a Commonwealth Games.

Yesterday, she tied the Canadian women’s record with her seventh medal, matching Elaine Tanner in 1966.
