Coughlan raced down to the business after hearing about the fire but was still waiting to find out more out the extent of the damage.

“Most of our business is downstairs so we are hoping it is confined to the upstairs and they can get it vented and we can get back in business” Coughlan said.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation but it is not believed to be suspicious.

Smoke from the fire also permeated a neighbouring yarn business.

Elsewhere in Kelowna, a home on Springfield Road was gutted by fire. A neighbour said one adult was killed in the blaze.
