Kelowna Rocket signs deal with Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that Rockets forward Carsen Twarynski has signed a three-year entry level contract with the NHL club.

Twarynski, 20, was drafted in the third round, 82nd overall in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

The Calgary, Alberta native is in his second season with the Rockets. Twarynski has appeared in a total of 255 career WHL games split between Kelowna and the Calgary Hitmen. The power forward has racked up 86 goals and 94 assists for 180 points. He also has a career +/- rating of +37 so far.

Twarynski is having a breakout season this year in Kelowna, currently leading the club in goals with 43. Since being acquired at the trade deadline last season, Twarynski has played in 94 regular season games with the Rockets scoring 50 goals and 42 assists for 92 points. He also added three goals and two assists for five points in 16 post season games last year.

Twarynski and the Rockets are back in action on Wednesday when they host the Prince George Cougars at Prospera Place for the final time this season. They play again at home on Saturday night as they host the Vancouver Giants to close out the regular season. Puck drop for both games is at 7:05pm.
