Many outside of Quebec were surprised to hear their provincial government passed a law forbidding people from wearing face coverings while using public services.

That would include those using and providing the service, for everything from a library visit to riding the bus.

I do not support full-face head coverings.

I believe it suppresses women in the name of religion which isn’t equal.

But I will defend the rights and freedoms of those who choose to wear them, as long as security isn’t an issue, and it hasn’t been to date.

What’s even more surprising is this was decided by the Liberal government of Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard.

Clearly, being Liberal depends on what province you live and when the next election is.

The Liberal “religious neutrality bill” is supposed to achieve secularism in the public sector.

Yet, this was all decided under the careful watch of a cross with Jesus nailed to it, hanging in their National Assembly.

So much for that theory.
