Lougheed said the first collision led to a four-car pileup, and just moments later, a three-car pileup took place in the same area.

Traffic was heavily affected on both sides of the bridge.

Lougheed said weather may have been a factor. He would like to remind drivers winter is just around the corner, so people should use their winter tires.

He said the Port Mann is experiencing higher volumes due to the recent toll changes, which is why drivers should leave extra room between cars.

Drive BC tweeted the collisions had been cleared, but drivers should expect delays as traffic clears out.
