Man pleads guilty to second-degree murder in August 2015 death of David Quach

It has been more than two years since David Quach was shot to death outside a northeast Calgary home.

Quach, 27, was found lying on the driveway of the California Boulevard N.E. home on Aug. 26, 2015.

He died en route to hospital.

A few days later, Said Raed Abdulbaki was charged with second-degree murder in the case.

Alberta Justice confirmed that Abdulbaki pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in court on Wednesday.

He was handed the mandatory sentence of life in prison. His parole eligibility was set at 10 years.
