Staff and families whose children go to a Calgary daycare are being notified they may have been exposed to a case of tuberculosis (TB).
Alberta Health Services (AHS) declined to name the daycare, but said the case is not a risk to the general public—nor is it an ongoing risk to staff or children. AHS said it was publicizing the information as a “matter of transparency.”
“Only those directly notified by AHS are considered exposed to this case,” reads a Wednesday statement.

Follow-up screening will take place, as is practice in any such case.
“So as to protect patient and family confidentiality, no further case details will be released,” AHS said.
