Owen Sound Police make arrest after arson investigation

An unsettling few days in Owen Sound after a spate of fires has ended with an arrest.

Owen Sound Police say they investigated five blazes between 1:20 a.m. and 6:40 a.m. Friday.

They allege the fires were intentionally set on the porch of a house, in garbage dumpsters and at a commercial building.

As a result of the investigation, officers say they arrested a 42-year-old Owen Sound man in connection with the case on Monday.

He now faces 13 charges, six of which are related to arson.

The investigation into the case is ongoing, anyone with information is asked to call Owen Sound Police or Crime Stoppers.
