Ontario’s police watchdog has laid a dangerous driving charge against a Toronto police officer after a cyclist was struck in January.
According to the Special Investigations Unit, officers were responding in the area of McCowan Road and Lawrence Avenue East on the evening of Jan. 9 and located a man riding a bicycle.

The SIU said a cruiser driven by a Toronto police officer collided with the bike, and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Const. Cole Robinson is facing one count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm. He is expected in court on July 18.
The Special Investigations Unit investigates cases where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault involving police in Ontario.
